The challenge
After an unplanned outage, a UK council needed time-sensitive support from an independent third party to investigate cause, impact, and the legal obligations arising from the incident.
The work
We worked directly with the relevant teams and analysed the relevant logs to produce a comprehensive incident timeline. We also conducted a full gap analysis on their body of policy and business continuity material to produce a set of actions moving forward, as well as providing advice on relevant reporting obligations.
The outcome
Resolution of all ambiguity and confusion around responsibility, readiness, response, and reporting; a clear set of actions aligned to relevant compliance requirements that demonstrated meaningful commitment to resilience to the regulator; and validation of the capability of the council to react and respond to these incidents effectively.
